Sustain Your Energy to Maximize Productivity in 2019

Sustain Your Energy

It’s tough to be productive when you’re overwhelmed, wouldn’t you agree? Energy drain affects all of us. As relational real estate agents, we are driven by the urge to provide a high-quality level of service, but that can be difficult when your tank is empty.

Take initiative at the beginning of the year and prevent burnout later down the line! Don’t wait until you’re pulling your hair out to make a change in your routine. Keep these four strategies in mind to help sustain your energy all year long.

  1. Tracking

When you know where you’re at, it’s easy to see where you need to go – and more importantly, the steps you must take to get there. Use your business CRM or even pen and paper to check in weekly on your progress. Did you write all the notes you said you would? How did you do with pop-by visits? Keeping track of your progress not only holds you accountable, but also motivates you on the days when you’re feeling drained.

  1. Consistency

Create a list of your must-do tasks, and make them automatic. This way, the tasks become less of a chore and just a piece of your routine. When you’re consistent in your routine, you are able to more steadily focus your energy. Time blocking and daily priorities are great tactics to keep you on track.

  1. Rest

This is an easy one to overlook. You may already schedule your lead generation activities, but do you schedule in time for breaks? Sometimes we need to save ourselves from…well, ourselves! Plan time for breaks and vacation into your schedule to intentionally recharge and rest. This strategy also gives you something to look forward to – a well-deserved reward for all your hard work.

  1. Positivity

Put the good stuff in! When you constantly surround yourself with positive podcasts, literature and social media, it’s easier to keep your spirits lifted. Negativity is a huge energy drainer. Keep an eye on your health, too! Commit to exercise and a healthy diet to keep your physical energy levels up.
