3 Steps to Maintain High Performance

3 Steps to Maintain High Performance

Win the market with our Do It N.O.W. campaign. This turn-key, marketing campaign will help you find and secure listings for the changing 2024 real estate market. Avoid the chaos and serve the listing every time. Outperform the competition and build long-term business.

Whether you want to become a high performer or maintain a state of high performance, there are steps you can take to help you stay on track.

Get a mentor.

A mentor is someone who’s taken the path you want to take and achieved success. They can offer advice and guidance to you on your journey and suggest tools and resources you can use to help you avoid the challenges they faced. Utilize teachers, presenters and successful professionals in your network who you admire. If it’s difficult to get face-to-face with the mentor, use other resources, such as email, personal notes or, if they’re a celebrity, read their book and glean advice from their stories and experiences.

Commit to training and development.

If you want to grow your business, you have to grow your mind. This involves utilizing all the tools and resources at your disposal, from online and in-personal trainings like Peak Producers to events like Brian Buffini’s Success Tour or Buffini & Company’s GameChangers. The more you learn the more you’ll cultivate the good habits that lead to success and you’ll develop the discipline to maintain these habits so they become automatic.

You may be thinking “Brian, I’m so busy. How can I possibly fit more training, events and personal development into my schedule?” You make time for it. The more successful you become, the more demands there will be on your attention. The most successful professionals commit to setting priorities and scheduling their days into time blocks that allow them to complete their most important tasks—the activities that drive their businesses.

Get a Coach.

If you want to take your business to the next level, it’s important to get a coach. Life is more complicated now than at any other point in history. Life moves faster, leaving many people feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated. We don’t have time to think and interact with one another on a personal level. We’re ill-prepared for the challenges of today’s market, today’s business and today’s life, which is why everyone needs a coach.

A coach gives you the tactics and tools to help you succeed. They give you direction and help you create realistic goals and become accountable to them. They also provide the encouragement and motivation you need to keep going, even when challenges arise.

There are three elements of the coaching process:

  1. Accountability: In the beginning, a coach holds us responsible to our goals and ensures we stay on track to achieve them.
  2. Partnership: As, you and a coach continue to work together, your business will grow and you’ll forge a partnership. Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” Your partnership with a coach will help you move your business forward.
  3. Ownership: When you reach this stage, your coach continues to play a supporting role in your success; however, they begin to encourage you to take full responsibility for your life and business. While the accountability is still there, they play a different role. As Brian Tracy said, “Peak performance begins with taking responsibility for your life and everything that happens to you.”

For more tips about achieving peak performance, read my new book, The Emigrant Edge, which launched last month. It delves into the seven characteristics that emigrants have in common in their stories of success that can be applied in business and life. We’re also heading to San Jose next month for the Success Tour. Be sure to reserve your spot at the live event or sign up for the live broadcast. I hope to see you there!
