It’s Recruiting Season! Are You Ready?
Another constant conversation I am involved in with brokers, owners and managers is a touchy subject. Oh, yes, juicy stuff coming on down the line now!
This is on the subject of growth (and pruning) and this doesn’t matter if we are talking about a new agent or a top producer, and it goes like this…
[box]Tip #2: Who you are in business with DOES matter[/box]
It matters to you, your reputation, your other agents, your brand in the marketplace, your culture and environment and so on. Who you decide to hire and keep is of upmost importance to having a fundamentally sound, profitable and fun organization!
I know you need to grow. I know it is a tough gig every day, but you know it’s true. Make sure that who you hire is a right fit for your company’s culture, values and expectations.
I know their production is alluring, but there are many high producing, high maintenance, toxic, “what have you done for me lately” agents that will bring much more than just their production with them when they join you.
Be selective. Make a list of achievers in your marketplace you’d like to be in business with based on the character and competence traits you’re looking for. Ask your agents who they know that were great to work with. Positive top producers want to be around like-minded people. Give yourself more choice based on your activities.
Create this environment and protect it by who you hire and keep, and your office will be THE destination for great producers.
