Top Tips for Recruiting Experienced Producers: Tip #1

It’s Recruiting Season!  Are You Ready?

By far, the biggest challenge that brokers and managers face in the real estate industry is the ever elusive process of recruiting great producers to their organization.

I hear these common frustrations all of the time . . .

“They don’t have time to meet with me.”
“They’re happy where they are.”
“I don’t know what to say to start a relationship.”
“I’m not good at following up and why should I call more than once?”
“It could take years!”

So, it is my goal to share a series of tips and resources on recruiting with a specific focus towards attracting those key people in your marketplace that “make it rain” in real estate.

My first tip is important because it challenges the way we think about the act of recruiting. (Well, all my tips are noteworthy, but I digress…)

[box]Tip #1: Change Your Mind[/box]

Instead of looking at recruiting as a never-ending call campaign you don’t have time for that ultimately ends in rejection, flip it around and be excited to build relationships with other ambitious professionals in the industry. There are many great benefits to being the hub of a talented network of entrepreneurs. Reaching out and creating opportunities to further build skills, share new ideas, and grow is very attractive to movers and shakers and can open doors you never knew existed.
