Buffini & Company recently celebrated 25 years in business. As North America’s largest real estate coaching and training company, we have impacted and improved the lives of millions of people around the world with quality real estate coaching, state-of-the-art agent training, world-class live and virtual events, one of the top business podcasts in the world, and much more.
To mark this very special occasion, I spoke to some of the earliest adopters of the working by referral system. These 25-year Members shared their memories of the first events, explained how they built businesses that have gone the distance and described how their lives have been changed by committing to the system for more than two decades. Here are some of their top tips for long-lasting success:
Be a Reader
These industry role models share the strong belief that reading is key to success. Todd Nordstrom commented that if you’re not a reader, you have the same disadvantage as someone who can’t read. Sam Elzie remarked that reading helps you to learn who you are and what gift you have to give to other people. Judy Adler advised that you become what you read and who you spend time with.
Be Consistent
Consistency is a principle that all of the 25-year Members are committed to. Larry Hassan shared that his consistent habit of note-writing has changed his life and that being committed to his goals and reviewing them often has been transformative. Todd Nordstrom observed that consistency breeds trust, which in turn leads to referrals. Margaret Barton stressed the importance of consistency when it comes to running a business and advised leaning into your coach to achieve success.
Be Clear
Judy Adler said that you must be very clear about who you are and what you want. Absolute clarity combined with persistence and consistency will get you where you want to go. After all, if your mind is clear, your decisions are easy!
Be a Giver
Edith Elzie spoke of the importance of giving first, saying that if you give it away in slices, it will come back to you in loaves. She advised operating from a place of abundance, not scarcity.
When I look at Buffini & Company today, I’m humbled to see how far we’ve come and how many people we’ve helped to reach their goals and live the good life. The truth is, if you work to impact and improve the lives of others, then they will impact and improve yours in return! To learn more, listen to the latest episode of “It’s a Good Life.”
