In business and in life, sound moral values can steer you to phenomenal success. In my career, seven biblical principles transformed me from a young real estate agent to an accomplished business owner with a lifelong mission to help others flourish and prosper. Here are the principles from the bible that shaped and changed me forever:
Whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. And let us not lose heart in doing good for, in due time, we will reap if we do not grow weary.
The whole working by referral system is about doing good for other people. This philosophy can be challenging sometimes, especially when you feel you’re not making any progress, but if you persevere you will win. Give and you will receive!
Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit. But, with humility of mind, let each of you regard one another as more important than himself. Do not merely look out for your own interests, but also the interests of others.
You must serve your clients without ego and put their interests first. When you go above and beyond for your customers, you will build solid, long-lasting relationships that will become the heart of your business.
Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established. The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
It’s important to plan your path to success, but you must also hold your plans with an open hand and an open heart.
Whatever you do, do your work heartily as for the Lord rather than men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of inheritance.
The idea of work is not just to have money in the bank or food on the table – the idea of work is what it makes of you. Your work is a great reflection of your character – as you’re working on your work, you’re working on yourself and you’re working on your life.
Those who use what they are given, even more shall be given and they shall have an abundance. But from those who do not use what they are given, even what little they have will be taken away.
You must use all of the talents you have been given and get the most out of them. Let none of your God-given talents go to waste!
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you will prove that the will of God is that which is good, acceptable and perfect.
Commit to constant and never-ending growth and improvement – if you’re not growing, you’re dying!
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Shine brightly in this world and be a beacon for others so that you light their path to success.
These biblical principles transformed me and my business. Apply them to your life and you will experience powerful change and growth, too. If you want to learn more, listen to the latest episode of “It’s a Good Life.”
